Donna Meeker

Donna (Stauffer) Meeker of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away at her home on June 23, 2022.
Born January 4, 1930 in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Bessie (Davis) Stauffer. She attended Unioto High School, class of 1947. She was married to James E. Meeker for 68 years, until he preceded her death in 2017.
Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia Meeker (James Flannagan), grandchildren Sage (Amanda) Flannagan, and Sayre Flannagan (James Dyer), great-grandchildren Ellis and Eamon Flannagan, and Alden and Althea Dyer.
Donna began her career in the health profession at age 17, working for Dr.'s Artman and Garrett, then went on to work for Pediatricians' Fleischer, Smith, Ater, Allen and Fortney for over forty years. In retirement, she worked at Elder-Beerman, volunteered at the Adena Mansion, and was an active member of her church, Tabernacle Baptist.
She was a loyal advocate, and willing caretaker for all of her friends and family in need, and embodied the virtues of generosity, work ethic, and compassion for all living things. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, reading mysteries, watching sports, and shopping for bargains. Above all, she treasured her time with family, especially her four great-grandchildren! She always encouraged and supported her loved ones to reach their dreams and goals.
The family would like to express gratitude for the many people who sent cards, thoughts and prayers, and a special thank you to the Adena Hospice staff who provided assistance.
Per her wishes, only a private graveside service for family will be held. Contributions to Adena Hospice, C/O Adena Health Foundation, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601, may be made in her memory.
