Donald Tisdale

Donald E. Tisdale, 83, of Chillicothe, died 8:40 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012, at his home, following a brief illness. He was born June 6, 1929 in Pickaway Co. to the late Hobart A. and Faye W. Wiggins Tisdale. On May 10, 1952 he married the former Erma Jean Brownfield, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Michael (Lisa) Tisdale, of Chillicothe and Mark (Melissa) Tisdale, of Waverly; three grandchildren, Michael Todd, Erica Lyn, and Cameron Alexander Tisdale; four great-grandchildren, Tanner Beichler Tisdale, Owen and Jacob Tisdale, and Kynee Clark Tisdale; five brothers, Nokey (Betty), Bobby (Melnee), Larry, Rick (Donna) and Oby (Shirley) Tisdale; seven sisters, Hermione Jones, Jane Woltz, Geneva Anderson, Janet Schrader, Judy (Richard) Schlegler, Carolyn (Frank) Sylvester, and Irene Carle; a brother-in-law, Paul (Helen) Brownfield; a special daughter-in-law, Frances Tisdale; several nieces, nephews, and golf buddies. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Swackhammer. Mr. Tisdale was a US Army Veteran and retired from Chilpaco in 1992. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed softball. He absolutely loved watching his grandkids play little league baseball and McDonald's coffee. He was active with Mt. Tabor Church, a member of the VA Golf Course and former member of the Jaycees golf course. The family would like to thank Dr. Beam, Dr. Roach, and the staff at Adena 3B, ER and 2NE. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Mt. Tabor Church, Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home.
