Donald Smith

Donald E. Smith, 78, of Chillicothe, died 7:54 am, Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Kobacker House, Columbus, OH, following an extended illness. He was born August 25, 1937 in Chillicothe to the late Clarence and Gladys Young Smith. On May 29, 1983 he married his soul mate, Pamela K. Faulkner Smith, who survives. Also surviving are five children, Ed (Connie) Blazer, Waverly, Terry (Bill Miller), Donna (Bruce Fuller), Beth (Bill Butler) and Rebecca Smith, all of Chillicothe; a step-son, Scott Music Faulkner, Grand Rapids, MI; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Smith; sisters, Betty Wilshimer and Louise Miner; and his twin sister, Donna Wickline. Don retired from the Mead Paper Company following 41 years of service. He drove for Haller Services, Inc., the Union-Scioto School District, and Life Ambulance. Don's love was camping. He was a wonderful husband. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 600. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Matt Roe officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart or Diabetes Associations.
