Donald Skees

Donald C. Skees, 55, of Chillicothe, formerly of South Bend, IN, died at 5:16am Monday September 24, 2007, in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, September 28, at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from Noon until 2:00pm at Haller Funeral Home. Don was born February 11, 1952, in South Bend, IN, to the late Charles J. and Betty R. Gregg Skees. He was a graduate of John Adams High School, Class of 1971, in South Bend. Don is the proud father of Shawn Skees and his fiancée Misty Scaggs, both of Chillicothe. Also surviving are his step-children: Kaylee Warwick, Cheyenne Au, and Skylar Au, all of Chillicothe; brother and sister-in-law Mike (Mary Jane) Skees; sisters and brothers-in-law Peggy (Dave) Szymanski; and Sharon (Larry) Bates, all of South Bend, IN; nieces Jackie (Dave) Lubelski, who was like a sister to Don; Christine (Danny) Clevenger; Michelle (Jason) Skeels and Heather Szymanski; nephews Brian Skees and Erik Szymanski, all of South Bend; and special nephews Richard Birdsall, Jr. and Brian Birdsall, both of Chillicothe. Don had worked for Dallas & Mavis/Active USA since 1975. He attended Chillicothe Baptist Church. He was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and a NASCAR enthusiast.
