Donald Ringer

January 18, 1935 — May 18, 2024

Donald L. Ringer went to be with his Savior on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Signature Healthcare in Chillicothe, OH.

He was born January 18, 1935 in South Bend, IN to the late Donald E. and Louise (Hopper) Ringer. He married Dorothy A. Phillips on January 16, 1954 in Mishawaka, IN.

Donald is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his son, Jim (Jenifer) Ringer of Dublin, OH, his grandson Caleb Ringer of Westerville, OH, and brothers, Phil Ringer of Mishawaka, IN and Ed (Esther) Ringer of Redlands, CA.

Donald served in the US Army during the Korean War. After leaving the Army he Graduated from the Baptist Bible College in 1962. He pastored at Newark Baptist Temple from 1963 to 1968. Then moved to Chillicothe, OH and pastored Bible Baptist Church from 1973 to 1978. During that time his desire to serve his God never wavered and when he left that church, he did other jobs while being a member at Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a volunteer chaplain at the Chillicothe prisons for 41 years. He ended his working life as a mailman with USPS in 2000.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 2486 Anderson Station Road, Chillicothe with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 pm, Pastor Robb Fowler officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery.
