Donald G. Moran, 67, of Chillicothe, better known as "Bugs" or "Touché Turtle" to his CB friends, died 7:35 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following an extended illness. He was born July 21, 1943 in Dayton, OH to Walter J. and Virginia J. Johnson Moran. On October 12, 1981 he married the former Beverly A. Swiggett, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Kathy (Bill) Alexander, Frank (Dottie) Congrove, Michael (Heather) Congrove, Rex (Clare) Congrove, David Moran and Louwanna Moran, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joetta (John) Spoonts, of Texas and a brother, James (Charlotte) Moran, of Circleville. Mr. Moran was a US Army Vietnam War veteran. He retired from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution. He was a member of the United Church of God, W. Portsmouth, and various CB radio clubs. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 6-8 pm Monday at Haller's.
