Donald C. Laughlin, 86, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 11, 2006, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born July 12, 1920, in Athens Co., OH to the late Waldo and Charetta Wildes Laughlin. On June 6, 1948, he married the former Dessie Lou Leach, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Debi (Gary) Seymour; son and daughter-in-law Donald C. (Joy) Laughlin II; all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jerry (Amanda) Seymour; Jaime (David) Strawser; great-grandchildren: Colton Seymour; Hailee Strawser, Electa Seymour; and Chloe Strawser. He was predeceased by sisters Susan McKinness and Jennie Davis; and brothers Joseph and Earl Laughlin. Don retired from CSX Railroad where he worked as a machinist for over 50 years. He was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Ohio American Legion. Don enjoyed anything outdoors including berry picking, and mushroom and ginseng hunting. He especially loved his family. Don was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church where funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday, January 15 under the direction of Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Baker and Rev. Robert Wills officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
