Donald W. Kunz, 70, of Frankfort, died suddenly, Tuesday night, at the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1943 in Chillicothe to the late William A. and Goldie Mae Conaway Kunz. On July 3, 1966 he married the former Lois Kay Dunkle, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Donald Kunz Jr., of Jackson Co., Shevelle (Mark) Kunz, Grove City, and E. Scott (Diana) Kunz, of Frankfort, IL; three grandchildren, Alysha Nikole, Braedon Andrew, and Abigail Kayleen Kunz; a sister, Mary (Richard)McWhorter, of Londonderry; a brother-in-law, Pete Dunkle, of Chillicothe; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins and friends, including special friends, Bob Harper and Roger Hammond. Don was preceded in death by a son, Kevin A. Kunz. Don worked for the Chessie System, Flintcote, retired from the Mead Corporation in 2003, and most recently worked for Harper's Garage and Towing. He was a licensed auctioneer for almost 40 years; a volunteer with the Concord Township Fire and EMS; and enjoyed farming. He was a 4H advisor for over 30 years, and served as Swine Barn Superintendent at the Ross Co. Fair. He coached baseball from the little leagues up through American Legion and Babe Ruth ball. He also umpired and refereed basketball, baseball and softball. He truly enjoyed maintaining the Babe Ruth ball diamond as well. He was an avid bowler and a member and judge of the Ross Co. Beagle Club. He was a "Sports Dad" and spectator. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Pastor Phillip C. Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call 3-7 pm Friday at HALLER'S.
