Donald Lloyd Knisley

Donald Lloyd Knisley, 89, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, December 19, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 10, 1936 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Roy and Opal (Tarlton) Knisley. On January 14, 1956, he married his beloved wife, Freda (Patterson) Knisley, who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Greg Knisley, Mark (Kathy) Knisley, and Todd Knisley; beloved grandchildren, Heather (Jake) Davis, Shianne (Andrew) Niles, and Stephanie (Weston) Bundenthal; great-grandchildren, Graham, Maggie, Vivian, William, Madi, and Hudson; special friend and cousin, Larry Gartner; brothers-in-law, Rick, Randy, Mike, and Jeff Patterson and their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members that meant so much to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Marvin Knisley; and a brother-in-law, Herb Julian.

Don worked as an electrician at Mead Paper Company for more than 43 years, where he retired in 1999. He and his wife enjoyed attending services at the Church of God in Richmond Dale before their health prevented them. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting, and fishing in his earlier years.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 1:00pm until the time of the service.
