It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Donald Horsley. He peacefully passed at home on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
He was a devoted member of Sunrush Church of Christ where he faithfully served as an Elder for 14 years. His commitment to the church family was evident through his willingness to give his time and heart in service to others. He lived out his faith through action and left a lasting impact.
He was born June 4, 1952, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Joseph and Mable Crowder Horsley.
On June 23, 1973, he married the love of his life, Judy C. Stanley Horsley who preceded him in death on December 26, 2022.
He is survived by two daughters, Amy Parker and Mindy (Bob) Cowman.
Grandchildren, McKenzie (Brice) Vickers, Dylan (Cassidy) Hughes, Hunter Parker, Gunner Parker, Emily Cowman, Daisy Parker, Colt Parker, Taylor Cowman, and Bobby (Morgan) Cowman.
Great Grandchildren, Lorelai Dawn Vickers whom he was honored to have his namesake. She always brightened her “Pappy’s” day, Liam Parker, Callum Vickers, Lucie, Leyton and Tommie Cowman.
Also surviving are sisters Freda Messer, Lois (Joe) Adkins, Joyce Horsley, and one brother Rickey (Janie) Horsley and in-laws Buna Horsley and James Flannery, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings Annie (Clay) Spires, Sharon Flannery, and Roger Horsley, and brother-in-law Ardith Messer.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Gabe Wheeler and Andy Painter (whom he thought of as a son) for generously giving their time to help with dad. Your kindness and selflessness brought great comfort to dad and means more than words can express.
