Donald Warren Good, 78, of Chillicothe, Ohio, went home to be with Jesus on October 26, 2024. Don passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born to Ralph and Juanita (Walls) Good on May 17, 1946.
He graduated from Huntington High School, class of 1964, where he played baseball and basketball. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He continued his love for basketball as a member of the base Air Force team. The teams schedule took him to bases throughout the mid-west. After leaving the Air Force, he continued to play both sports in the city league and became an employee of Wearever, a factory in Chillicothe.
On August 16, 1969, he married Joyce (Dillon) Good. To this union was born a son, Christopher Lee Good, their pride and joy.
Donald loved farming and decided to make it his fulltime career. But an accident in 1979 derailed most of these plans.
Surviving is his wife Joyce of 55 years, a son, Dr. Christopher (Traci) Good, of Gallipolis; brother-in-law, Daniel (Connie) Dillon, sisters-in-law, Shirley (Dave) Williams, Mona (Ray) Keller, both of Chillicothe; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Ova Lawrence Dillon, Jr., and Mary Dillon; sisters, Janet Hawk, and Lois (John) Sheridan; and half-sister, Marilyn (Don) Holdren.
Don has attended Beulah Chapel since he was a teenager and was where he and Joyce were married.
The family would like to thank the hospice and support staff for all of their love and care. A special thank you is extended to Maria, Beth, Brandon, Tina, Pastor Jeremy, Kay, Fay, and many others. Also, a heartfelt and sincere thank you to a long-time friend and caregiver, Tracy White.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Long officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
