Donald E. "Donnie" Fizer, 76, of Chillicothe, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Gallipolis, OH. He was born on April 6, 1937 in Chillicothe, OH to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Frey) Fizer. On September 27, 1960 he married Carolyn Kay (Woolum) Fizer who preceded him in death on April 18, 2006 after 46 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond A. and Mona (Bondurant) Woolum. Surviving are his two daughters, Beth (Randy) Gable, and Sheri (Tony) Fultz, both of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Madison Rae-Anne, Zachary Robert (Chassidy), and Moriah Dawn Barlage-Gable, Leslie Kay (Jason) Fultz-Keiser, Andrew Tony and Megan Jordyn Fultz,; two great-grandchildren, Leighton Keiser and London Fultz; a brother, Marvin Fizer; two sisters, Evelyn (Gerald) Kintner, and Marilyn (Ray) Fee; brother-in-law Raymond L. (Robin) Woolum; special friend, Judy Trainer; lifelong friends, Tom and Melissa Posey, and their children Courtney and Josh; and his beloved dog, Ernie. Don grew up in Chillicothe, OH where he became a livestock broker, and continued to haul livestock until his date of death. In his early years, he worked at Taylor's Stag Bar in Chillicothe. He owned the Producers Livestock restaurant in Gallipolis, OH, where he only missed one sale in 17 years. He enjoyed hauling livestock from the Ross County Fair for more than 50 years. He was awarded the Friend of 4-H. He was a member of the local Eagles Aerie 600. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family members, especially his great-granddaughter who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Huntington Memorial Cemetery, Chillicothe, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
