Donald Dixon

Donald T. Dixon Donald T. Dixon, 71, of Chillicothe, died 2:54 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2007 in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. William Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at Haller's, and one hour prior to the funeral service Monday. There will be a Lion's Service at 7:30 pm Sunday. He was born June 5, 1936 in Chillicothe to Thomas and Bernice Delong Dixon. On April 1, 1956 he married Phillis Jean Gee, who survives. Also surviving are beloved members of his immediate family; his son, Timothy (Debbie) Dixon; a granddaughter, Stephanie Dixon; and a brother, David (Carolyn) Dixon, all of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandchild. Don retired from Mead Paper. He was a Board Member of the Homeland Credit; the Jaycee's 1995 Citizen of the Year; the Ohio House of Representatives Outstanding Citizen; a member of the Red Cross Board of Directors; the local DAT Disaster Response Team; a Past-President of the Chillicothe Evening Lions, having received their Melvin Jones Fellow Award; a Charter and 37 year member of the Springfield Twp. Fire Department, having served as Chief for five years; the Board of the March of Dimes; a licensed Real Estate Agent; held several offices in the Mead Employees Local 731 Union; and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
