Donald Detillion

Don Detillion, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on November 18, 2012. He will be deeply missed in very moment and at every turn. He worked hard, lived well, and laughed often. Don was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Family Man. He contributed so much to the lives of others and the community throughout his life and was admired and respected by so many. Don is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Davis Detillion; his children, Mike (Donna) Detillion, of Ray, Gary (Tammy) Damron and Brian (Shawna) Detillion, both of Chillicothe, Colleen Rutherford, of Ray, and Jeannie (Stan) Humphrey, of Vermont; grandchildren, Angie (Paul) Miller, Shane Wallingford, Jason Moore, Justice Detillion, Chris Hardesty, Jamie Kirby, Robbie and Matthew Humphrey, Stephanie Seymour, Heath Zickafoose, Emily and Casey Rutherford, Jessica, Dustin and Steven Damron and Jimmy and John Detillion; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Karen Phipps, Avanel Rumfield and Juanita France, all of Waverly; and brothers, Delbert and Gene Detillion. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Detillion and Jolitta Parks; and a sister, Thelma Holsinger. Don was a dedicated law enforcement officer for nearly 50 years. He retired as as a captain with the Ross Co. Sheriff Department. He founded or was an integral part of the success of the Ross Co. Dive Team, the first SWAT team, the Bike Patrol and the Jr. Deputy Program. Don was a member of Brookside Church, where funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, Rev. David Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unverferth House, 190 King Ave., Columbus, OH 43201. "I have fought long and hard for my Lord, and through it all kept true to him. And now the time has come for me to stop fighting and rest. In heaven a crown is waiting for me which is the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day." 2Timothy 7, 8
