Donald L. Collier, 68, of Chillicothe, died at 8:47am Monday, November 24, 2014, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Columbus. He was born June 1, 1946, in Vinton County, OH, to the late Ed and Nancy (Mace) Collier. On July 7, 1972, he married the former Marilyn Kay McFadden, who survives. Also surviving are his son Kevin Harper, of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Zachary, Kaitlyn and Breanna Harper; sisters and brother-in-law Bonnie (Johnnie) Smith, McArthur; and Nancy Mae Collier, Bainbridge; his brother Eddie Collier, Londonderry; his mother-in-law Jean Bail, of Allensville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law James (Rosetta) McFadden, Wellston; Carol (Ivan) Green, of Ray; Barbara (John) Hamblen, Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his grandparents who raised him Alfred and Nannie Collier; and his twin sister Donna Jean Diehl. Donald was a graduate of Allensville High School, Class of 1965. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. Don retired from Kenworth Truck Co. in 2008, following 34 years of service. He was a member of the AmVets, Post 4 and the VFW, Post 108. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, November 29, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. James McFadden officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Concord Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
