She was born September 2, 1936, in Camden, New Jersey, daughter of the late Thomas and Dolores (Adams) Whitehead, Sr. On January 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Ellingsworth, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1998.

(Madison Kemper) Ellingsworth, and Jacob Browning; great-grandchildren, Jaxson (Kirsti Garland) Larson, Jonah, Gavin and Mia Adkins, Colton Patton, Annistyn and Eli Ellingsworth, and Zoe Barthelmes; a sister, Dorothy (Daniel) Orellana; special close friends, Minnie Cox, Sherry Cullen, and Cheryl Snyder; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mildred Whitehead; her brother, Thomas (Ruth) Whitehead, Jr.; and a special aunt who helped raise her, Mom Belle.
Dolores worked for the US Shoe Corporation for many years before retiring in 1987. After retirement, she founded Dee's Office Cleaning Service. She loved crocheting, ceramics, baking and going shopping. But most of all, her family was her life and she enjoyed spending all of the time she could with them. Dolores was a proud Army wife, a strong and loving mother, a fun grandmother who enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, but most of all she loved being a G.G. and adored all of her great grandchildren. She truly was blessed and would always tell her family " I love you a quarter's worth".
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Adena Hospice Group for all of their love and care over the last several weeks. They would also like to thank Dr. Seidensticker for his exceptional care during her illness.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021. The family will receive friends prior to the service, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rowland Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Adena Hospice Group.
