Dianna E. Medert, of 72 Limestone Blvd in Chillicothe, was called by the Lord on Friday, 29 January 2010, following her courageous 18 month battle with brain cancer. She was born in Athens, Ohio to the late Ralph and Marilyn Kail on 5 June 1952. Dianna moved to Chillicothe in 1993, following her husband David's retirement from the United States Navy. A Christian woman, Dianna was highly dedicated to her family and is well known for her sense of humor. An inspiration to all who knew her, Dianna enjoyed life to its fullest placing her family and friends before herself. She is survived by her husband David of 30 years; their two sons Allan A. Johnson and his friend Missy Sparks; David "Matt" Medert and his fiancé Kristina; sister Deborah A. Piccinnini and her husband Charles of New Jersey. Dianna has 7 grandchildren including: Alex and Adam Johnson; Jay, Megan, and Kailee Sparks. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW of Moncks Corner, South Carolina and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Amvets in Athens, Ohio. Dianna will be truly missed by her family and friends but we know she will be with us forever guiding us through our own challenges of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Rd; Des Plaines, IL 60018. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Haller Funeral Home.
