Dennis C. "Denny" Wolfe, 78, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at his residence February 12, 2018. He was born July 26, 1939, in Logan, OH to the late Henderson Charles and Margaret (Ringhiser) Wolfe. On January 16, 1960, he married the former Carolyn Sue Weaver, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Denise J. (Donald) Minor, of Circleville; Anita K. (John) Rogers; Kevin J. (Kathy) Wolfe, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Aaron (Sarah) Minor, Chase (Casey) Minor, Kelly Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Kameron Wolfe and Kimberly Wolfe; a great-grandson Luke Minor; his sister Melanie Dresbach (Ken) Warman, Westerville; his brother Grover (Gail) Dresbach, Jr., Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; and his mother and step-father Margaret and Grover E. Dresbach, Sr. Denny was a graduate of Pickaway Twp. High School, Class of 1957. He was the founder and owner/operator of Wolfe Automotive. He could make anything with an engine run better. He had to be, and usually was, the fastest. He was well known on the regional drag racing circuit for many years and was ranked nationally. He restored vintage cars and won awards at a number of local and regional auto shows. His grandfather Ringhiser taught him to hunt and fish as a boy and Denny was a life-long outdoorsman. He served as a Tournament Director of the Ross County Bass Club. Denny designed, built and flew (and occasionally crashed) gas engine model airplanes and helicopters. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, February 16, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Graveside service will be held at 1:30pm Friday in Forest Cemetery, Circleville. Friends may call from 4-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
