Delores Parker

May 26, 1931 — March 28, 2016

Delores Teresa Parker, 84, of Chillicothe, our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed into God's hands on March 28, 2016, surrounded by her family, whom she adored. She was born May 26, 1931 in Columbus to the late Rocco A. and Bessie E. Cappocciama Pentello. On November 24, 1956 she married Robert A. Parker, who died September 6, 1989. Survivors include her children, Anthony (Mary) Parker, Farmersville, OH, Lisa (Geoff) Wayland and Debra (Jay) Morgan, both of Chillicothe; step-children, whom she loved as her own, Robert L. (Charlotte) Parker, Cincinnati, Patricia Parker, Columbus, and Michael Parker, of Ft. Meyers, FL; grandchildren, Emily Wayland, Molly (Logan) Calhoun, Shannon Morgan, Joshua and Ashley Parker, Olivia Morgan, Kent Parker, Sara Rivard, Robyn Lynch, and Jodi Perry; six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ralph (Georgeanna) Pentello, Johnstown, OH, Fred (Ginnie Kearn) Pentello, and Marianna (Emilio) Ranalli, both of Columbus; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Craig (Sandy) Pentello, of Columbus; and a sister-in-law, Lucille (Edward) Adkins. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Ann McKinnon; and four brothers, Phillip, Michael, Anthony and Thomas Pentello. Dee was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she was active with the Lazarus Committee, the Greeters and Ushers, and cleaning the altar linens. She retired from the Kroger Company in 2002. She enjoyed Card Club and loved to crochet, making many afghans for family and friends. She was a member of the "Golden Girls," and for ten years met for lunch every Wednesday at Donato's. Dee's presence on this earth touched many, especially her family. Her conversation and smile always lit up a room. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
