Della Maxine Nelson

Della Maxine Nelson, 83, of Chillicothe, died 6:40 pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born January 6, 1930 in South Webster, OH to the late Lawrence and Callie Mowery Staten. On October 1, 1948 she married Everett L. Nelson, who died May 4, 2000. Survivors include her daughter, Linda E. Hartley; sons, Lawrence and Ronald (Moriah) Nelson; grandchildren, Scott Hartley, Laura Nelson, Keith Meyers, Rachel Nelson, and Joe Warnock; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Berk and Poppy (Justin) Spriggs; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Nelson; grandsons, James and Jonathan Nelson; and a son-in-law, Stephen Hartley. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker, a KOPS graduate, and an avid bowler. She volunteered distributing commodities and at Heartland of Chillicothe. The family would like to thank the Paint Creek Floor staff of Traditions, especially Elizabeth Bousquet, and the NCR Hospice Team for the wonderful care. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Ted Holdren officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 5-8 pm Friday at Haller's.
