Delberta "Shelly" Hershella Howard, 49, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2018, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 12, 1968, in Chillicothe, and was raised by Marie Bayes, and Chrystal (Landon) Davidson. On February 27, 1988, she married her husband, Mark Alan Howard, who survives. Also surviving are their two sons, Mark Alan (Kayla R.) Howard, Jr., and Brett Alan (Danielle L.) Howard, both of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Kaden Maria Dawn Howard, Wyatt Alan Lee Howard, and Izabella McKenzie Marie Howard, all of Chillicothe; five siblings, Tammy (Ron) Shaw, of Williamsport, Brenda (Charles) Howard, James (Cindy) Paugh, Charles Bayes, and Woodrow Paugh, all of Chillicothe; her mother-in-law, Aleta Howard, of Chillicothe; numerous nieces and nephews including her Goddaughter, Brittney Bayes; and her best friend, Wendy Howard. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Virgil Howard. Shelly attended Chillicothe High School and formerly worked for the Adena Regional Medical Center. In her free time she loved working on different crafts, including making wreaths, crocheting, and sewing. She also loved to travel and go on vacations in Las Vegas, as well as going camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor William Mack Walk officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00pm on Saturday until the time of the service.
