Debra Diane Oiler, 75, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 10, 2026 at her home, following a brief illness.
She was born April 30, 1951, in Greenfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Myron and Opal Cottrill.
She is survived by her beloved children, Bruce (Kim) Oiler, Kerry (Ursula) Locke, and Danyelle (Jeremy) Gillette; her grandchildren, Austin (Emmalynn) Oiler, Madison Oiler, Lukas Oiler, Gabriel (Kennedy) Fisher, Hailey Gillette, Cloie Fisher, Gavin Locke, and Sasha Locke; great-grandchildren, Nolan Oiler, Ava Oiler, Kinsley Fisher, and Addilyn Fisher, with baby Olivia Oiler on the way; her siblings, Penny Miles, Tony Cottrill, Tim (Candy) Cottrill, and Kevin Cottrill; as well as numerous extended family members and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha Cottrill, her brother, Skip Cottrill, her brother-in-law Ron Miles, and DeyDey’s boy, Devon Tripp.
Debra retired from Glatfelter after many years of employment. She was best known by others as being a wonderful mother, nana, friend, and so much more. She would drop anything she was doing to help someone in need. She loved and adored her children; but nothing compared to her grandkids and great-grandkids! If she wasn’t spending time with them, she was out shopping for them! She also loved spending time outdoors working in her flower beds. Her green thumb allowed her to create beautiful gardens and a serene space that her family will fondly remember. She will forever be remembered by her loved ones, especially when they pass by a beautiful flower, hear a singing bird, or see a beautiful sunset.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Melissa, Amy, and Michelle. Also a sincere thank you to Abby and Gracey who spent so much time with nana and loving on her.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
