Deborah Sue Turvy, 70, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 16, 1951 in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Eddie and Gloria (Leach) Spriggs. On October 10, 1997, she married Charles Turvy, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2008.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Adriana) Pearson, of Grove City; a beloved granddaughter, Paulina Pearson, also of Grove City; a brother, Fred Spriggs; a sister, Cora Rhinehart; sister-in-law, Debbie Spriggs; as well as numerous dear close friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Spriggs, and a sister-in-law, Joanna Spriggs.
Deborah was a graduate of Zane Trace High School, class of 1969. She was a member of the Light House Baptist Church and a member of the Chillicothe Garden Club. She was a highly active with the Republican Women of Ross County, serving as a Past President, and working with their fundraising group, as well as new memberships. She was also highly active in her volunteer work with the Hope Clinic and served on their board of directors. She served as a member of the Ross County Historical Society, and was on the board at the Scioto-Paint Valley Mental Health organization. In addition to her community involvement, she loved to go traveling, taking trips to the beach, and hot air balloon adventures.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Chillicothe, with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
