Chillicothe

Deborah E. Ryan, 72, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, following an extended illnes.

Debbie was born on May 20, 1954 to the late Robert and Carol (Fanny Bobo) Ryan. She was the oldest of six daughters and preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Sherry and Carol; and brother-in-law, Jeff Weller.

Debbie's greatest joy, proudest accomplisment, and life's purpose was her daughter, Melissa Jean Ryan. The bond they shared was one of unconditional love, unwavering devotion, and endless patience. Debbie dedicated her life to caring for Melissa, always putting her daughter's needs before her own. Their love for one another was evident to everyone who knew them.

Her love extended well beyond her own home. After the passing of her sister, Carol, Debbie held a special place in her heart for her nephews, Jeremy, Josh, and Ryan. She lovingly watched over them, supported them, and looked out for them as though they were her own, offering the same care guidance, and unconditional love that defined her life.

Even in her final hours, that love never faded. Debbie's last smile came as she heard Melissa's voice over the phone. A beautiful reminder that the love between a mother and daughter reaches far beyond words.

Debbie worked for many years at Kerr Wholesale before becoming a bus driver for Pioneer School and later First Capital. She treasured the friendships she made throughout her life and loved spending time with Melissa at the Paint Grill, where the would watch Ohio State football games and cheering on Dale Earnhardt on race day.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Melissa Jean Ryan; sisters, Karen, Lisa, and Holly; three nieces; seven nephews; and several great nieces and nephews; and her cherished fur babies, Rebel and Angel.

Debbie will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Whether as a mother, sister, aunt, or friend, she loved deeply and gave selflessly. Her legacy of compassion, loyalty, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at the family's convenience.
