Deborah Karr

Deborah L. Karr, 61, died at 7:25pm August 4, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief battle with liver cancer. She was born June 12, 1955, in Portsmouth, OH to the late Johnnie and Lora (Carver) Sparks. On December 5, 1975, she married Roger D. Karr, who survives. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: Willie Ray (Joyce) Sparks, of Beaver, OH; Jean Hatten, of Jackson; Pauline Fraley, of Jackson; Harold L. (Juana) Sparks, Dover, DE; Susie Martin, of Beaver, OH; Linda (Les) Daniels, of Chillicothe; Jay (Carolyn) Sparks, of Beaver; Nancy (Bill) Clements, of Chillicothe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts: Wilma Gilkerson, of Columbus; and Vernice Carver, of Chillicothe; in-laws Norman Conger, of Jackson; Debbie Miller, of Oak Hill; James (Sharon) Karr, of Columbus, IN; special friends Henry, Amy, Josie and Hank Vallette and their family; and many other special friends too numerous to name. She was predeceased by infant brothers Bobby and Jerry; an infant sister Carol; and 3 nephews: David Hatten, John Sparks and Richard Martin. Debbie was a graduate of Jackson High School, Class of 1973. She retired in 2013 from the VA Medical Center where she worked as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed working as a Silpada dealer, loved to golf and to go shopping. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Danny King officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8pm at Haller's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation-Cancer Fund, 272 Hospital Rd., Suite 1, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
