Dawn Rose, 71, of Chillicothe, passed away Wednesday evening, February 22, 2023 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born March 22, 1951, to the late Margaret Swink.
Surviving are her two children, Erica (Phillip) Detty, and Chris (Aubrey) Rose; grandchildren, Matthew Detty, Megan Detty, and Callen Rose; as well as her lifelong friend, Debbie Brandenburg.
Dawn was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved and protected her family with fierce devotion and tenacity. Second in her care of family was that of her dogs, who never wanted for anything in their lives. While her health was fading with her age, her wit and cynicism never waned and she always had something relevant and thought-provoking to add to a conversation. She always saw her circle as small, but everyone else knew that she touched more than she understood. She was loved by and will be missed by many.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Grandview Cemetery.
