David Thomas

David E. Thomas Jr., 54, of Chillicothe, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at his home, unexpectedly. He was born December 30, 1957 in Chillicothe to David E. and Bonnie L. Gatliff Thomas. Survivors include his mother; a brother, Robert L. Thomas, of Newport News, VA; two sisters, Thea Gatliff, of Columbus and Bonita Thomas, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephew, Chelsea, Jackie and Chase. He was preceded in death by his father; a nephew, John; and his grandparents. David was a US Navy veteran and could be seen about Chillicothe on his bicycle, often pulling his mower. He was a 1977 graduate of Chillicothe High School and had worked for the Mead Corporation. He was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church, where funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haller Funeral Home to aid with final expenses.
