David Stitt

David R. Stitt, 76, of Chillicothe, died at 7:35pm Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness. David was born December 18, 1937, in Dayton, KY, to the late John and Mildred (Heckerman) Stitt. On July 25, 1964, he married the former Retha Mae Eagle, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Michael (Marta) Stitt, Chillicothe; Jerry (Cari) Stitt, of Valrico, FL; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa (Michael) Nedved, of Grove City, OH; grandchildren: Chelsey and Hanna Stitt; Marisa, Michael, Kattarina and Olivia Nedved; and Emily Stitt; and a brother and sister-in-law Edgar (Carol) Stitt, of Bellevue, KY. Dave retired from the former Martin-Marietta Plant, Piketon, in 1993 where he worked as a buyer. He was a member of the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, the Orchard Hill United Church of Christ and a US Air Force Veteran. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, July 24, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home.
