David Stark

David Michael Stark, 84, of Chillicothe, died 4:32 am, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.   He was born December 24, 1933 in Chillicothe, OH to the late Raymond C. and Ferne Clark Stark. On November 30, 1960 he married Catherine L. Pollock Stark, who survives. Also surviving are six children, David M. (Pamela) Stark Jr., Amy (Mike) Baker, Eric (Stacie) Stark, Steven (Joy) Stark, Elizabeth (Gary) Kazee, and Matthew (Kim) Stark, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Herlihy, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John Stark; and two brothers, Raymond "Sonny" and John Stark.   David described his 67 years after graduating high school as "Never a dull moment." He attended the University of Dayton for three years. During summer vacation he worked on a ranch in Colorado, and he always wanted to go back to that beautiful countryside. He was drafted into the Army, Co. D, 37 th Division, and at first resented it, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of his life. He was stationed in Germany and met one of his best friends, Bob Greener, travelling throughout Europe. Once home, he finished college at Ohio State University, and started his own dairy farm. He was lucky to have two lifelong friends, Bud Lindstrum and Marty Bouillion. Marrying his wife and raising his seven children was the highlight of his life. He loved history, his dogs, and automobiles. Truly, "Never a dull moment."   He was a member of St. Mary Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday, March 15, 2018, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Army, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, 61 S.
