David Shimp

David Carl Shimp, 67, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born March 30, 1946 in Findlay, OH to the late Roy C. Shimp and V. Violet Fry Shimp LaRue. He married Linda Jones, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Karrie (Kevin) Sullivan, St. Charles, IL and Allecia Richards, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Austyn and Alec Richards, Painesville, OH and Fianna and Liam Sullivan, St. Charles, IL; half sisters, Terry Melton, Benton, KY and Donna Millar, Manhattan, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Donald LaRue, all of Findlay. David was a US Air Force veteran, retired from CVG Trim Systems of Chillicothe and worked for Hercules Tire and Rubber, Findlay, OH. He was a volunteer at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Past President of the Chillicothe Antique Car Club, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 418, and Past Patron of the Rawson Order of Eastern Star. An Eastern Star Service, followed by his funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Pastor Ron Cottrill officiating. Interment will be in Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra, OH, Monday. Friends may call 12-2 pm Sunday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
