David Seymour

February 16, 1947 — January 3, 2016

David Alan Seymour, 68, of Chillicothe, died Sunday January 3, 2016, at his home, of heart failure. He was born February 16, 1947, in Chillicothe, to Glenn and Lucille (Wiles) Seymour. On April 20, 1969, he married Joy Summers, who survives. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tricia, of Columbus; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Conrad Dana, who blessed his life with four grandchildren, Conrad III, Spencer, Phoebe, and Julia Dana, all of Chillicothe; a brother Jeff Seymour; sisters, Joy LaVeck, and Diane (Ted) Norris; sister-in-law, Janet (Charles) Elliott; as well as several nieces and nephews; and many special Army buddies and friends. In addition to his parents, and parents-in-law, Helen and Dow Summers, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy, and a brother-in-law, Jim LaVeck. David graduated in 1965 from Centralia High School and served with honor in the U.S. Army. He was a hard working man, formerly employed by CSX Railroad and retired in 2008 from Glatfelter. David loved hunting, fishing, and sharing his bounty with friends at his annual wild game supper. He loved to travel, especially to Alaska. He visited every state except for Hawaii. If you were one of the people who were blessed to know him…remember his laughter. But to the family he cherished, and his so many friends, David will be remembered most as a loving and devoted husband, father, adoring grandfather, helpful friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Haller Funeral Home. A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
