David Richter

David A. Richter, Sr., 76, of Chillicothe, died Saturday, December 22, 2007, in Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00am Friday, December 28, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Friends may call Friday from 10:00am until 11:00am at St. Mary Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Dave was born March 26, 1931, in Ross Co., to the late Arthur S. and Helen B. Morris Richter. On October 21, 1950, he married the former Catherine T. Matteo, who survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law David Allen (Bonnie) Richter, Jr.; granddaughters Elyse and Ciara Richter, all of Canal Winchester, OH; sister and brother-in-law Joan (Gene) Whaley, Chillicothe; sisters-in-law Delores (Herbert) Maxvitat; and Joanne (Tom) Jones, all of New Jersey; many nieces and nephews; special friends Marie and Red Baer; and his four-legged companion "Angel." He was predeceased by his brother Harold "Shorty" Richter. Dave retired from the Mead Paper Corporation in 1992 as a supervisor following 40 years of service. He served his country for four years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and he loved to travel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe.
