David A. Proehl, 65, of Frankfort, died at 9:15am January 1, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born February 18, 1956, in Chillicothe, to the late Paul and Phyllis (Cooper) Proehl. On June 12, 1976, he married the former Pamela S. Barnhart, who survives. Also surviving are his sons Brian Proehl, of Frankfort, Joey (Gigi) Proehl, of Bainbridge; grandchildren: Angel Proehl, Brianna Proehl and Olivia Biron; his brother Michael (Sharon) Proehl; his sisters Sharon (Michael) Irvin and Carolyn Proehl, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Gordon Barnhart and Richard (Cathy) Tuttle; and sister-in-law Anita Barnhart, all of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister Janet Proehl; and his black lab and best buddy "Rex." David was a 1974 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He had worked at the US Shoe Factory and then retired as a supervisor from the State of Ohio Prison System. The family would like to give special thanks to Adena Pike and Adena Greenfield Rehab Centers and Adena Hospice for their care and comfort. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm Friday January 7, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Friday at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Londonderry Cemetery.
