David Patterson

October 11, 1960 — March 20, 2024

David Russell Patterson, 63, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, March 20, 2024 at the Mount Carmel East Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born October 11, 1960, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Russell Franklin and Grace (Bell) Patterson. On May 10, 2013, he married the love of his life, Cathy Lee (Adams) Patterson who survives.

Also surviving are their children, Erica (Jason) Patterson-Schleman, Jessica (Ethan) Rittenhouse, Brittany (fiancé Zaki Shalash) Patterson, Ean (Maddie) Trusler, and Danielle Patterson; grandchildren, Lily, Brayden, Hudson, Austin, Layla, and Vanessa; two brothers, Matt Patterson, and Russ (Beth) Patterson; his special Aunt Jean; as well as numerous other extended family members and close friends.

Dave worked as a truck driver for the last 42 years and recently retired. He was looking forward to spending time with his wife and family, with the hope of purchasing an RV for traveling in the coming months. He was known among his family and friends for being an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, for his love of the Cincinnati Bengals, and NASCAR. He enjoyed being outdoors, going hunting, fishing, grilling out, or simply sitting on his front porch drinking a cup of coffee. His ultimate goal was to eventually live off the grid and be self-sustaining. Dave was also a man of faith and enjoyed attending church services online when able. His family and friends will greatly miss all of the fun adventures they had with him, his love, and his kindness.

In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life service is being planned by family and will be announced in the coming days.
