David E. Park, 40, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 10:50am Thursday, February 26, 2009. He was born September 5, 1968, in Ross Co. to Donna Johnson Short and Michael E. Park. Surviving are his children, who meant the world to him, son Ryan Park and daughter Kayla Park, both of Chillicothe; step-son Justin Hudnell; his mother Donna Short; sisters and brothers-in-law Shelly (Rob) McGuire, all of Chillicothe; Marie (Paul) Miller, Frankfort; brothers Mike Johnson and his significant other Mike McCambridge, Chillicothe; Larry Short, Columbus; half-sister Andrea (Ryan) Carroll, Richmond Dale; step-brothers Steve Smith, Londonderry; Larry (Carri) Smith, Chillicothe; step-mother Nedra Park, Chillicothe; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends including Lynette (Kyle) Coriell; Renee McPherson; and Pam Sheets. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Park; maternal grandmother Helen Davis; maternal grandfather Hershel Johnson; paternal grandparents Edith and Lindley Park; step-father Larry Short; and aunts Kay Pigge and Betty Johnson. David was a graduate of Southeastern High School, Class of 1987. He retired from Chillicothe Correctional Institute where he worked as a corrections officer. He enjoyed watching Ohio State football and NASCAR. He was a very loving father, son, brother and a true friend to many. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 2, in the Haller Funeral Home with Youth Minister Pamela Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
