David Hinty

David Donald Hinty, 82, of Chillicothe, died at 1:42pm Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1931, in Ross Co. to the late Roy and Edna (Bratton) Hinty. On April 11, 1956, he married Doris Ann Gaines, who preceded him in death on January 6, 2012. Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law Leona (Steven) Penrod, Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren: Christopher and Josh Hinty; Chuck Welch; Jason and Cheryl Owen; several great-grandchildren; and sisters Alice Pierce and Hazel Smith. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, sisters Betty Justice, Jean Jones, Dorothy Peirce and Edna Pritchard; and brothers Clarence, Lloyd and Carl Hinty. Donald worked for Davis Lumber Co. and he served his country in the National Guard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, January 29, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7pm Tuesday at Haller's.
