David Greene

David K. Greene, 75, of Chillicothe, died at 12:33am November 20, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.   He was born September 25, 1946, in Columbus, OH, to the late Edward and Norma (Skaggs) Greene.  On January 23, 1965, he married the former Judy M. Syck, who survives.    In addition to Judy, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Keith (Kim) Greene; his grandson Ian Greene, all of Chillicothe; sister-in-law Brenda Syck, of Colorado; his brother-in-law Richard (Don) Gamble, of California; a niece Kim (Kelly) Easdon; and nephews Paul Greene and Mark (Lori) Syck.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Don Greene; sisters Carolyn Lewis and Beth Gamble; and a brother-in-law Paul Syck.   Dave was a graduate of the former Pleasant View High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio University.  He taught English at Paint Valley High School for over 15 years and served as District Librarian prior to his retirement in 2000.  Dave also coached football at Paint Valley, which he loved.  He also enjoyed traveling, his vegetable garden and cooking.  He was well known for his ribs and his cinnamon rolls.    A Celebration of Life will be held at 6pm Tuesday, November 30, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  The family will receive friends from 4pm-6pm Tuesday at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Adena Health Foundation-Hospice Program, 9 S.
