David Davis

David Paul Davis, 75, of Kingston, OH, passed away peacefully at Adena Regional Medical Center after an extended illness around 3AM on Friday October 24, 2025.

He was born February 18, 1950, in Portsmouth to John Hobart and Thelma Ruth (Baldridge) Davis.

He was a graduate of Waverly High School, Class of 1968, and of The Ohio State University, earning a degree in Sociology.

David worked for Fayette County Job and Family Services.

He is survived by his wife Brenda (Hankins) of 52 years, one sister Kathy (Davis) Crawford of Waverly, one brother Doug Davis of Raleigh, NC, one son Jeremy (Stephanie) Davis of Kingston, two grandchildren Tyler Davis and Lindsey (Aaron) Young, two great grandchildren Hayden and Layne Young, and baby Young due in December, all of Chillicothe.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Hobart Davis, Jr.

He enjoyed hiking and spending time in the Smoky Mountains.

David was a member of Prussia Valley Dulcimer music group for many years.

He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church 341 Clinton RD, Chillicothe, OH 45601 on Wednesday October 29, 2025, at 11AM with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating.

A bereavement dinner will follow the funeral services in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund.
