David Brownfield

David Edwin Brownfield ThD., 67, of Chillicothe, died 3:17 pm, Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

He was born March 3, 1951 in Chillicothe to James S. and Hilda M. Nunley Brownfield. On September 28, 1971 he married Linda K. Frey, who survives. In addition to his mother and his wife, survivors include two children, Kathryn (Stephen) Rymarz, Columbus, OH and James Brownfield, Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Michael S. Price, Rebekah A. and Elisabeth B. Rymarz; and a sister, Marsha (Billy) Foringer, Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Margaret Ellen Brownfield; and a brother, Randall D. Brownfield.

Dr. Brownfield received his Doctor of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary and retired in 2008 as an evangelist with the Church of Nazarene.   He was a 3 year US Army Vietnam War veteran, and served 19 years in the US Navy. He was a former member of the Westside Church of Nazarene, a member of Jefferson Ave. CCCU, a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans; as well as a member of Rotary International.

He will be remembered as a generous, loving husband and father. He loved to make people laugh and always had a positive attitude and huge smile. He will be loved and missed by many.

Funeral services and a military tribute conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 2;00 pm Friday at Jefferson Ave. CCCU, Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Twin Township Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
