Bell, Sr., 73, of Chillicothe, formerly of Kingston, went to be with the Lord at 5:33pm May 11, 2007, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born December 19, 1933, in Ross Co. to the late Nelson and Dorothy (Lancaster) Bell. On April 28, 1963, he married the former Joy L. Wise, who survives. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Zickafoose officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Monday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law David (Nancy) Bell, Jr., Ashville; Kenny (Vickie) Bell, Chillicothe; granddaughter Erica (Matthew) Lombardo; great-granddaughters Gabrielle and Alexa Hutchison, all of Chillicothe; brothers and sisters-in-law Everett (Rose) Bell, Chillicothe; Larry (LouAnn) Bell, Kingston; sister Sue Detty; sister and brother-in-law Patty (Stanley) Bixler; a brother-in-law Verlin (Eileen) Wise, all of Chillicothe; and a close family friend Marvin Thimmes. He was predeceased by a son Richard D. Bell, a brother Dale Bell and a sister Linda Parker. David was a graduate of Southeastern High School. He then served his country in the Navy from 1953-1957 and 1958-1962. He retired in 1988 from the VA Medical Center working in nursing service for 32 years. He also operated a part-time auto repair business for several years and following his retirement from the VA, transitioned this into a full time business which he managed until 2002. His love was teaching and preaching the Word of God. This was an integral part of his life from 1964 until 2003 at which time his health began to deteriorate. He served as a council member for the village of Kingston for four years and was a member of the Victory Hillside Chapel.
