David L. Babcock, 78, of Chillicothe, died at 3:40am August 30, 2025, at the Ohio State University Wexner Hospital.
He was born February 10, 1947, in Fremont, OH, to the late George W. and Margaret A. (Walker) Babcock, Sr. On March 8, 2001, he married the former Robin R. Werley, who preceded him in death on December 7, 2024.
Surviving are his sons: Jason (Janet) Babcock, of Piketon; David (Susan) Babcock, of New Vienna, OH; grandchildren: Brian (Ivie) Creasman, John Ross, and Brooklyn Babcock; a great-grandson Jack Creasman; a brother Ronald (Kathy) Babcock, of Wayne, OH; a sister Carol Jack, of York, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Robin, son Michael Babcock, and brother George Babcock, Jr.
David was a graduate of Eastwood High School. He then served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Class A truck driver, having logged over 4.3 million miles. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a member of the Amvets, Post 4 and a member of the SALT Council, where he had served as president.
Following cremation, military graveside services will be held in Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
