David Allen Seymour Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly after trying to assist his dog Baby on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in the rolling countryside of Ross County, Ohio, on a warm Saturday, August 17, 1957, David lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication.
A cherished resident of Londonderry, Ohio, David was known for his warm spirit and love of the great outdoors. Professionally, he was a fisherman in Florida for many years, spending his days surrounded by the blue embrace of waters that he loved dearly. His passion for fishing wasn't just a profession; it was a way of life. Furthermore, David served with honor in the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community.
David's life was filled with the love of his dedicated wife, Irene (Hurley) Seymour. He is survived by his children, David A. Seymour Jr., James Seymour, and Mary Seymour, along with his step-children Kevin McComis, Vance McComis, Tracy Hansen, and Lisa Rodgers. David's legacy continues with his grandchildren, Venessa, Kelly, Dakota, Nahla, Jack, Billy, and nine cherished step-grandchildren, as well as his 15 great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his brothers Harry "Butch" Seymour, Sammy Seymour, and Greg Magill.
David's companionship extended beyond his family. He leaves behind special friends Homer Wilburn and Stanley Ray, who shared in many of his life's adventures. David's loss is deeply mourned by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Harry and Eva Seymour; his brothers, Michael Seymour, and Tommy Seymour; a sister; and his dearly missed grandchild, James Seymour.
A Funeral Service for David will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Landmark Christian Church, 914 Dayton Street, Chillicothe, followed by burial at Londonderry Cemetery. Calling hours will begin at 11:00 am Tuesday and go until service time.
In honor of David's memory, contributions to the Haller Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses would be appreciated by the family.
