David L. Adams, 59, of Kingston, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 1pm in his home while surrounded by family and friends. He fought a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born July 4, 1949, in Ross County Ohio to Clyde and Elizabeth (Wilkes) Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles "Bud" (Jeananne) Adams. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tonyea Lynne (Lowery) Adams; children, David Chad Adams; Sonya (Michael) Miller; Vanessa Adams (Trent Dearth); grandchildren: Austin Zachary Adams; Jared Lee Adams; Gabriel Michael Miller; and Samuel Michael Miller. He is also survived by sisters and brothers Katheryn "Khaki" (Lloyd) Shuttleworth of Lancaster, Ohio; June (John) Crum of Circleville, Ohio; Urban (Carolyn) Adams of Circleville, Ohio; Loyd (Joyce) Adams of Kingston, Ohio; Harold (Vicki) Adams of Circleville, Ohio; and Barb (Charles) Knaack of Circleville, OH; father and mother-in-law Robert (Popeye) and Patricia Lowery; brother-in-law Brent (Mary) Lowery; Sister-in-law Cindi (Carl) Dearth; Sister-in-law Jodi Lowery and numerous nieces and nephews. David was unconditionally loved by all who knew him. David was a Vietnam veteran that served in the U.S. Army as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from the City of Chillicothe, Service Department in 2008. He owned and operated Dave's Towing in Kingston. He was a circuit rider and a member of Community United Methodist Church, Hallsville, Ohio. David enjoyed riding his motorcycle, tractor pulls, attending nascar races, rappelling, working in his garden, preaching, ministering to others and spending time with his best friend his wife, and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 11, 2009 at Community United Methodist Church (Hallsville), 8585 St. Rt. 180 with Pastor David Titler officiating. Friends may call Sunday, May 10 from 1-3pm and 5-9pm at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at Community United Methodist Church (Hallsville). Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601, in appreciation of their wonderful care and support.
