Danny Lee Sayre passed away on Thursday April 9th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on February 11, 1956, to Floyd and Myrtle (Staffan) Sayre. He married his high school sweetheart, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Glandon on July 7, 1973, who passed on January 29, 2024.
Danny is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Angie Adrean) Sayre of Westerville, and Sharon (Matt) Gillum of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Ashley Gillum (Tyler Riley) , and Aaron (Sarah) Gillum; great-granddaughter, Madalyn Gillum, and soon to be great-grandson Easton Lee Gillum,; siblings, Tim (Sheila) Sayre, Vicky (Danny) Weese, Karen Copenhaver, Becky (James) Blaney, sister-in-law Sandy Sheetz, brother-in-law Garry Osborne; his dog Tia Marie, and he will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jackie, and siblings Rita Baxter, Patsy Osborne, and Betty Lou Sayre.
Danny worked at Mead for 40 plus years. He enjoyed watching the Bengals, Reds, and Buckeyes with family and friends. He was happiest spending time with family and friends around the pool and hosting cookouts, and when he was not doing those things you would find him out cutting his grass and taking care of things around the property.
A Celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 5:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time. Following the service friends are invited to Ross County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building 344 Fairgrounds Rd Chillicothe 45601 for a time of food and fellowship.
