Daniel Richards

Daniel K. Richards Daniel K. Richards, 89, of Chillicothe, died early Sunday morning, September 10, 2006, in his home. He was born July 27, 1917 in Duquesne, PA to Charles E. and Marion Klinefelter Richards. On June 28, 1940 he married Helen G. McGuire, the love of his life, and with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage. Helen preceded him in death April 6, 2001. Survivors include a brother, Edward Richards, of Florida; a sister-in-law, Nellie Docherty, of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces and nephews, Tom and Ronale O'Conner, Don and Marilyn O'Conner, and Jim and Becky Docherty, all of Pittsburgh, PA, Sue and Tom Henthorne, of Chillicothe, with whom he lived, and Bruce and Elizabeth Docherty, of Canastota, NY; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Lavell Richards. Mr. Richards was known as "Uncle Dan" to family and friends. He retired after 40 years of service with US Steel. He traveled extensively and was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 23 in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Haller Funeral Home.
