Daniel Kennedy

Daniel L. Kennedy, 65, of Chillicothe, died 7:15 am, Sunday, October 2, 2011, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born September 24, 1946 in Columbus, OH to the late John W. and Pauline Anderson Kennedy. On July 11, 1970 he married the former Melanie J. Sewards, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Sean Kennedy, of Galloway, Joseph (Athena Walker) Kennedy and Michael (Nicol) Kennedy, both of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Philip J., Joseph W. Jr., Jacob A., and Roy C. Kennedy; brothers, Patrick (Debbie Bashaw) Kennedy, of Columbus and Raymond Kennedy, of Manchester, TN; sisters, Kathy Kinnaman, of Wapakoneta, OH and Peggy (Robert) Parker, of Newark; a sister-in-law, Patricia Brown; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Megan Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother John W. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a building maintenance supervisor prior to his retirement. He was a US Army Viet Nam War Veteran and a member of AMVETS Post 4. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working cross word puzzles, gardening and fishing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Thursday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer officiating. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary Family Life Center, following the mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice or Cancer Fund, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
