Dale Rhoads

Dale E. Rhoads, 80, of Chillicothe, died at 10:58am December 23, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born May 21, 1926, in Lima, OH, to the late James M. and Della Zickafoose Rhoads. On August 13, 1949, he married the former Patricia J. Poole, who survives. Also surviving are their daughter and son-in-law Kathy (Ray) Cerbasie, Mt. Dora, FL; son Phillip Rhoads, Bainbridge; sons and daughters-in-law David L. (Anita) Rhoads, Anderson, SC; and John J. (Sharon) Rhoads, Chillicothe; grandchildren Candece (Todd) Owens, Sarah Rhoads, Emily Rhoads, all of Anderson, SC; and John A. Rhoads, Shelburn, IN; a great-grandson Dale Eugene Rhoads II; 5 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by his sister Lavern Crusie and a brother Lawrence Rhoads. Dale retired from the Federal Prison System where he worked as a corrections officer. He then retired from the Pioneer School where he drove a school bus. He was a member of the P.E.R.S. and formerly attended Storms Chapel Church. He was a Corporal in the US Army during WWII. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 11:00am Thursday, December 28, in Twin Twp. Cemetery with Rev. Robert Hobdy officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
