Cora Simmons

Cora Y. (Harding) Simmons, 57, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, in her home following an extended illness. She was born November 21, 1948, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late James and Thelma (Jenkins) Harding. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Alan Jeffrey II (Kristel) Moore, of Pensacola, FL; daughters Johnetta Moore, Chillicothe; Kendra Bradfield, Columbus; brothers and sisters-in-law John (Patti) Harding; Leroy (Myrna) Harding, all of Chillicothe; Matthew (Crystal) Harding, Portsmouth; grandchildren: Tre'll, Keanna, Asia, Alan J. III, Davina, Janice, Jordan, Diamond, and Natalie; and aunts and uncle Nellie (John) Herron and Sameda Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Y. Moore. Cora was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist and Zion Baptist Churches where she served on the usher board, the choir, Loyal Club, Busy Bee, and the soup kitchen. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, August 30, at the Zion Baptist Church with Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 11:30am until 1:00pm Wednesday at the church.
