Clyde L. Pigott, 81, of Chillicothe, died 9:30 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday in Calvary Lutheran Church. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veteran's Honor Guard, will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at Haller Funeral Home. He was born June 8, 1927 in Chillicothe to Guy and Nellie Edwards Pigott. Survivors include his children, Barbara (Randy) Shipley, of Bellbrook, OH, Carol (Dave) Walters, of Winston Salem, NC, Steven (JoAnne) Pigott, of Choctaw, OK, David (Jo Sager) Pigott, and Suzanne Pigott, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Jesse Walters, Laura Walters Goode, Travis Shipley, Megan Shipley Knowlan, Alex Pigott, Crystal Pigott Bennett and Andrew Poole; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Bennett, Ellie Walters, and Abagail Marriott; step-grandson, Josh Marriott; and his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Hood Pigott. He is survived by a brother, Guy Pigott; and a sister, June Hinkle. Mr. Pigott was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a retired IBEW electrician. He was a US Navy World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre, in the Drum and Bugle Corp, and as a gunner on a landing craft. He was a member of Scioto Lodge 6 F & AM; Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus; the Aladdin Shriners; IBEW Union; AMVETS Post 4; and a life member of the VFW Post 108. He enjoyed making flower bowls for friends and family; he collected clowns; and enjoyed telling jokes to his friends while he ate breakfast at Frisch's each morning.
