Cloyd Steele

Cloyd E. Steele, 76, of Kingston, went to be with this heavenly Father 4:45 am, Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born June 6, 1937 in Hocking Co. to the late Arthur and Ada Dillie Steele. On November 20, 1970 he married Judith Ogan, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Christopher (Amanda) Steele, Kingston, Michael (Twila) Wilbur and Tammy (Mark) Tatman, Chillicothe and Tony (Kathy) Steele, Laurelville; his grandchildren, Phillip, Brad and Kyle Seymour, Armanda Wissinger, Gunner, Riley and Tieana Steele, Dalton Wilbur and Cassie Karr; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; a sister, JoAnn (Junior) Martin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Spicer. Mr. Steele served in the US Army from 1960 to 1962 during the Berlin Conflict. He was a 1955 graduate of Laurelville High School and had retired from Mead Paper Company in 2000. He enjoyed car shows, basketball games and woodworking. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
